Roddy Ricch just dropped some new smoke for the streets. Said to be the first single off his next project, the track is called “Better”. This is a collaboration with producer Tank God, and it’s really hot work.

Roddy Ricch has emerged as one of the hottest new rhymers in the game. With his hit “Die Young”, he’s stepped front and center in what’s developed into a new Trap-Hybrid sound. It’s a combination of rap flows over trap beats and simultaneous harmonizing throughout, fusing R&B vibes. Is this where all of our singers have gone? The sound now seems to have developed into a concise hip hop expression, and is now being successfully repeated. Is this where all rappers will have to go? The State of The Game. Whatever the answer, we know this… it’s where the money is, check.

Rappers like Young Thug, perhaps, were the first to set out the sound competently. Old heads might say Bone Thugs N Harmony, but that wasn’t trap music. One thing is for sure, artists like Roddy Ricch, Juice WRLD, and Lil Baby are on the cutting edge of the new hip hop ledge, and it’s exciting.

This new track, “Better”, aided by a melodic yet crisp trap beat, is keeping the new moneymaking sound in the air. I give this song 4 out of 5 Daggers Drippin’. This cut rides hot, and it does Draw Blood. Let’s Go!
