Rapper Rich The Kid just dropped a new single to his fans on Instagram. The track is called, “Splashin” and it has a full length video to go along with it. The Rich Forever Music CEO has been through a rough last few weeks, since severely crushing his wrist in an ATV accident in California. Judging by his upbeat demeanor and aggressive promotion of this new project, you would never know what he’s been through.
“Splashin” is said to be the first single of Rich The Kid’s next studio album titled The World Is Yours 2. The song has a strong resemblance to Rich The Kid’s big hit, “Plug Walk”. I suppose he figures, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. On the other hand, considering that “Spashin” is noticeably less hot than “Plug Walk”, Rich and his producers might want to rethink that strategy.
While “Splashin” will do, but the bass tones simply do not impress. The track does have playful chords that catch your attention, but it lacks a cohesive message and memorable hook phrasing.
Still, the song has an easy, mindless fun feel that may just rub off on the fans, and a creative video that will help it along – don’t count it out. However, I’d recommend looking elsewhere for a lead single.
I give, “Splashin” by Rich The Kid 2 out of 5 Daggers. The track feels cool, but it has real flaws. I’m waiting for Rich The Kid’s next track.
