State’s Attorney Kim Foxx had this to say…
“After reviewing all of the facts and circumstances of the case, including Mr. Smollett’s volunteer service in the community and agreement to forfeit his bond to the City of Chicago, we believe this outcome is a just disposition and appropriate resolution to this case.”
However she was supposed to have been recused from the case, and here’s why… TMZ reports that Tina Tchen, who resigned as Chief of Staff to Michele Obama amid controversy, came to Kim Foxx and asked her to go easy on Jussie.
While Kim Foxx did recuse herself, the end result, even with 16 felony charges against him, is still, going easy on Jussie Smollett.
Even though the decision to drop the charges was said to be made by Joseph Magats, the First Assistant State’s Attorney, people are wondering if Kim Foxx had a hand in the outcome.

All 16 felony charges against Empire actor Jussie Smollett have been dropped!! This morning his attorneys were able to show that the $3,500 check Jussie gave the Osundairo brothers was actually just for personal training.
All that grandstanding from Chicago police though… what’s up with that? Why did they have all their top brass parade in front of cameras condemning this man if their case was so weak?
