Last week one of John Singleton’s children, Cleopatra, accused her grandmother, Sheila Ward, of trying to swoop in and keep the famed director’s money away from his seven children.
Apparently Grandma Sheila had the wits to file for a temporary conservatorship over John’s estate, while her son lay helpless in a hospital bed after his massive stroke. In the absence of a wife, that move might seem reasonable, but all it did was set off more tension over what TMZ is now reporting as John Singleton’s $35 million dollar fortune.
Well today we’ve learned that Grandma is in possession of the will. If true, that means she might already have the bag secured. No word on a reaction from daughter Cleopatra, but it’s bound to piss her off.
We’ll have to see what the will says as to who’s in or out, or if Cleopatra has any reason to be worried about her position. There are certain legal challanges that can be made even when there is a will in place, but for all intents and purposes, it’s all over but the shouting.
We’ll keep an eye on this one and let you know which shoe drops next… until the next time it drips…
