The mother of Nipsey Hussle’s daughter Emani was rejected by a court today in Los Angeles. Her name is Tanisha Foster, and she was looking to get her own daughter back from the family of Nipsey Hussle, specifically, from Nipsey’s sister, Samantha. The judge ordered that Emani remain in Samantha’s custody, at least for the time being.
Samantha’s been letting it be known the family thinks Tanisha isn’t fit to parent Emani, and she wants permanent guardianship. TMZ is reporting Tanisha Foster has several arrests dating back to 2006, and they say she has a current warrant out for her in a DUI case. Tanisha left the courthouse today, and all she could say is, “I’m pissed off.”
In her defense, she lives in gang land Los Angeles like the rest of the family… who hasn’t been hooked up by the police a few times for this or that. You live long enough in any hood across the country, and arrests can happen, but that doesn’t mean you’re a criminal, and it definitely doesn’t mean your kids should be taken away. And how is it she has a warrant, blasted to the world by TMZ, but stood in a courtroom today without being arrested?
Moreover, Nipsey was a proud gang member, and he was killed in a most violent manner on Crenshaw right outside of his own store, allegedly by another gang member. Little Emani easily could have been present when the situation went down since, again, it was her daddy’s store. If Nipsey Hussle was fit to raise Emani, surely Ms Tanisha Foster is. Unfortunately, Emani’s father is gone – the child should be with her mother.
For now though, Tanisha Foster has to take this loss and move on. The judge kicked the decision to a July hearing, however, there doesn’t seem to be a clear reason why, and Tanisha is still separated from her child.
