CARDI B TURNED DOWN A PLEA DEAL, BUT NOW FACES A GRAND JURY

Cardi B found out she’s in a considerable amount of trouble today. In a Queens courtroom, prosecutors told the judge that Cardi B’s case will now be heard by a grand jury – a move that definitely increases the “Bodak Yellow” rapper’s criminal exposure. See TMZ’s shot of her coming to and from court….

The whole case stems from a night at the strip club where bartenders and sisters Jade and Baddie Gi were attacked, allegedly by Cardi B’s people, and the sisters believe it was ordered by Cardi B herself. They say Cardi B thought Jade had slept with her husband, superstar rapper Offset, and that’s why she ordered the beatdown. Since then, Jade has become somewhat famous for being the true “ride or die” girlfriend to imprisoned rapper, Tekashi69. She recently tattooed a large image of his face on her chest in black ink… seriously.

Back in April, prosecutors offered Cardi B a plea deal, but she flat out turned it down. TMZ reports that deal would have had the rapper plead guilty to one simple misdemeanor charge and avoid jail time altogether. This time however, things seem to have changed drastically. The D.A. now sees an opportunity to send Cardi B away with much more serious charges.

The last time she went to court in this case, Cardi B took pictures of her outfit before she left her home and posted the fashion show on Instagram. This time she also seemed to be having a bit of fun with the circumstance by dropping a courtroom themed rap song called “Press,” and posting this clip on the way to her court date….

Is Cardi B tempting fate by playing games with the New York City justice system? After today’s developments, it’s clear prosecutors are not playing games with her.

We’ll be watching all the happenings in this case and bring it to you when we get it – until the next time it drips…
