As expected, embattled R&B king R. Kelly walked into a courtroom in Chicago today and proudly pled “not guilty” to a new slew of felony charges stemming from his long-held practice of sexual relationships with very young women. TMZ live streamed the days events. Listen to the judge carefully break it down for the defendant…
Kelly is facing eleven new charges: five counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, four counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, and two for criminal sexual assault. All these charges are serious felonies, on top of the ten counts of sexual abuse coming out of Cook County, Illinois.
Moreover, all of that has nothing to do with what are three confirmed federal investigations into R. Kelly going on in the Eastern District of NYC, the Southern District of NYC, and the Northern District of Illinois. Federal prosecutors stalk R. Kelly like prey as he sweats in the box waiting to see what the state indictments will amount to.
As the screws tighten, R. Kelly truly has a lot to think about, but for now, no plea deals and “not guilty” are his refrains for everything.
