Saturday at the Revolt Summit in Atlanta, a panel discussion got heated when rapper TI had a dustup with outspoken Trump supporter, Candace Owens. Before a live crowd, moderator Jeff Johnson brought up the Trump slogan, “Make America Great Again,” and asked the panel their feelings about it’s racial implications in America.
Candace Owens, of course, went on to defend Donald Trump, asking the moderator when Trump ever actually said or admitted that. Then all of a sudden TI interrupted and asked Candace, “When was America actually great… and what exactly is Donald Trump trying to emulate?”
The crowd went wild with satisfaction at his challenge to the staunch Trump supporter, as Candace struggled to anwer. The rapper went on to press her for answers, asking, “What period in America? …When black people were lynched? When women couldn’t vote? … The crack era?” As the crowd got more rowdy, Candace seemed to be completely stumped and had a look on her face as if she’s never heard these facts about American history before.
It was a truly interesting exchange and, given the reaction coming from the audience, very entertaining as well. We’ve got more Revolt Summit updates coming up for you soon. Until the next time it drips…
