CIARA NAMED THIS YEAR’S HOST OF THE AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS

Ciara was just named the 2019 host for the American Music Awards show going down in less than two weeks from now on Sunday, November 24th. The big announcement came down today from ABC and Dick Clark Productions, the company that produces the awards show staple. Ciara’s been keeping the secret of her new gig for a while now, but she’s happy to finally let it all out.

Ciara’s been nominated for an AMA herself twice, in 2005 and 2013 for Favorite Soul/R&B Female Artist. The “Level Up” singer also just happens to be celebrating the fifteen-year anniversary of her ground-breaking debut album, Goodies. She had this to say to ET Online…

“It’s special. It’s kind of surreal — it’s like pinching myself, and going, ‘This is literally 15 years ago.’ Like, 15 years ago sounds so far away. To see this generation dancing to that song like it’s a new song, and it’s falling right into the pocket of what’s happening now, it’s kind of crazy. It also shows you the cycle of music and how different times repeat themselves all over again.”

This will be the 47th Annual American Music Awards, and it all happens in Los Angeles on November 24th starting at 8 PM. It looks like her football superstar husband, Russell Wilson, will be working all the way across the country in a matchup against the Eagles, but we’ll let you know if ‘DangerRuss’ makes it to the show. Congratulations Ciara! We’ll be tuning in – until the next time it drips…
