There has now been confirmation that there were actually four masked men involved in the home invasion, not just two, as previously reported. TMZ reveals video surveillance is what led to that determination and they also say no one set the house alarm system after the last guests for the evening had left.
We’re waiting to hear who all was present when the deadly home invasion went down. Unfortunately, it also turns out Pop Smoke himself may have inadvertently displayed the exact address online to his millions of followers. He was showing off some gifts he just received from having hit #7 on Billboard this week with his new album, Meet The Woo 2.
It’s being reported “Welcome to the Party” rapper Pop Smoke was killed overnight during a home invasion robbery at his home in The Hollywood Hills. TMZ says police reported two men with hoodies and masks burst into the rapper’s home about 4:30 AM this morning, let off some shots, and Pop Smoke was mortally injured.
We’re told they rushed Pop Smoke to Cedars Sinai Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. No possible perpetrators have been identified yet, but witnesses say they ran off on foot.
The news has come as a complete shock to the Hip Hop community, as the young rhymer was only 20 years old and just getting started. Nicki Minaj, who had a remix to his hit “Welcome to the Party,” had a strong reaction online, saying… “The Bible tells us that jealousy is as cruel as the grave. Unbelievable. Rest In Peace, Pop.”
Of course it is not clear what all has happened with the killing of Pop Smoke nor who did it, but it has been pointed out the rapper was flexing a ton of cash with his friend and fellow artist, Mike Dee, at the same house just hours before the assassins busted in. Pop Smoke and Mike Dee posted several pics online of themselves in front of the house with the cash – it’s just what rappers do these days.
Pop Smoke was also arrested and held on a $250k bond over the alleged theft of a Rolls-Royce recently. Everyone is simply in shock and wondering what’s going on? We’ll bring you more info as soon as we get it. R.I.P. Pop Smoke. Until the next time it drips…
