R&B songstress Jhené Aiko had an intimate but very successful album release party in Los Angeles recently. The album, Chilombo, her legacy name sake, is set to be released this Friday, March 6th. The event was packed with Jhené’s close personal friends like singers Khelani and newcomer, Queen Naija. Her very famous boyfriend, Big Sean, was also right by her side.
This after Jhené dropped her second single off the album called “Happiness Over Everything(H.O.E).” The track features superstar Future, and singer/producer Miguel also graces the hook. Billboard says the song has been taking off quickly in the last few days since Jhené and her label, Def Jam, released the video for the song.
Interestingly, Jhené has been into what she calls “sound healing” and the use of crystal alchemy sound bowls. Apparently the sound from these objects projects extra vibrations and Jhené insists they are very therapeutic. Her album Chilombo will feature these sound bowls throughout.
We’ll keep track of how things shake out for the go-to R&B hitmaker on her third solo album. Until the next time it drips…
