It appears the rumors are all true, Real Housewives of Atlanta fans. OG Housewife NeNe Leaks is leaving the show after all. On Thursday the reality show maven made the announcement herself on her YouTube channel saying…
“I’m just so happy that I can say that I was part of a genre that opened up a door for Black ensemble reality shows. I want to thank everybody that has looked up to me over the years. I want to thank Bravo for all the memories. Thank you to the cast for all of the memories.”
NeNe’s been on the show since 2008, making her what many would consider an icon for the reality show genre. Her exit wasn’t planned of course, she and the show’s producers have been going back and forth in negotiations for months. We knew that because NeNe made several mentions about the issue to her fans on social media.
In her farewell she described negotiations as, “extremely long, exhausting, tiring, emotional.” In fact a RHOA spokesman issued a statement to TMZ, saying…
“We wish Nene all the best in her future endeavors and thank her for sharing her journey for over a decade with the fans of ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta.’ She’s been instrumental since the start and will truly be missed, and maybe one day she’ll hold the peach again.”
You see what they did there…? They said, “maybe one day she’ll hold the peach again.” If the show’s producers aren’t giving up, maybe we shouldn’t either. Keep in mind, however fatalistic Mrs. NeNe Leaks sounds in this communique, she actually only mentioned not being a part of “season 13,” so…
