It looks like one of R. Kelly’s former sex slaves recently posted half naked pictures of herself to social media with a caption saying, “Come over.” The survivor is Azriel Clary, now 23, one of the last girlfriend/sex slave holdouts the disgraced R&B singer was able to hold on to after being sent to federal lockup for his sex crimes.
Remarkably, Azriel finally left R. Kelly’s house for good earlier this year and told the world she was done being used by the singer, calling herself a “survivor.” Azriel had apparently been a part of R. Kelly’s harem of young girls since the tender age of 17. Therefore, many are wondering why a girl that had been the victim of sexual exploitation for so long would now be sending out overt sexual messages of her own, seemingly objectifying herself.
You’ll remember that just this year Azriel had a big blow-up with her live in girlfriend and fellow reported R. Kelly sex slave, Joycelyn Savage, 24, in the singer’s Trump Towers apartment in Chicago. The ladies were taped fist fighting each other sometime after it became clear their “Half on a Baby” boyfriend would not be released on bail anytime soon.
If you’ve been following Azriel Clary’s development since parting with R. Kelly, it seems she’s been singularly focused on growing her social media profile without taking much time for any healing in between. And her profile has indeed grown – Azriel has several hundred thousand fans now, posting her freestyles, product placements, and a lot of sexualized, mostly naked, pictures and videos. Watching the traumatized aspiring singer traffic in sex for popularity is, itself, intrinsically cringeworthy.
Even though Azriel has escaped the grips of R. Kelly, who the government considers the leader of an interstate sex trafficking ring, some are starting to wonder if Azriel Clary has ever really stopped being a victim.
