YouTube star Jake Paul got another chance to show off his boxing talents to the world as he delivered devastating knockout blows to the NBA’s Nate Robinson last night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. After dropping Nate Robinson twice, Jake Paul struck him with the third and final blow, giving Paul his second win as a professional boxer.
In what turned into the most entertaining night of sports since the pandemic began, Jake Paul (2-0) and Nate Robinson (0-1) put on a show with Robinson launching leaping attacks on the much taller Paul. Eventually figuring out how to counter Robinson, Paul used his reach advantage to hurt Robinson and score a knockdown in the 1st round.
The real violence would come in the 2nd when Jake hit Robinson with a three-piece-combo ending with a overhand right that dropped Nate Robinson facedown at 1:35. There he would lay for a worrying length of time, attended to by the referee and his trainer. They were eventually able to get Robinson turned upright and conscious.
Of course Paul and Robinson were actually the co-main event to the exhibition match between ex-champions Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. That scrape went 8 rounds and saw the two champs judged as a draw, though most observers said Tyson’s body blows to Roy Jones Jr. gave Tyson a slight edge overall.
As for Jake Paul, he’s already looking for his next opponent, posting a picture of himself and Connor McGregor in 2021. We’ll let you know if anything comes of that. Until the next time it drips….
