Famed hitmaker and Beats Electronics founder Dr. Dre has apparently agreed to pay his estranged wife, Nicole Young, $2 million in temporary spousal support for starters. TMZ reported his lawyers and Nicole’s lawyers agreed Dre would not pay the $5 million she was initially asking for attorney’s fees, but Dre will however put up $500,000 for the lawyers Nicole will need to divorce him.
We reported Dr. Dre also suffered a life threatening brain aneurysm earlier this week, resulting in the Aftermath Records founder being rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Dre signed his temporary agreement with Nicole’s lawyers from his hospital bed on Thursday, ending the very tense opening chapter of their failing marriage.
Said agreement also lets Dr. Dre off the hook for Nicole’s security force, but he’ll still be paying for her living expenses. We’re also hearing Dre will continue to foot the bill for Nicole’s mother, who has a home in the affluent Pacific Palisades community in California. It all makes one wonder if Dr. Dre is feeling more amenable to cooperation given his current, very serious, medical state.
In 2019 Forbes recorded “the doctor” had pulled in $950 million for the decade at that time. It’s been reported by The Daily Mail that Nicole’s lawyers estimate the hitmaker is worth $262 million in straight cash and quick flip Beats stock right now.
As it stands, things are supposedly settled until the next hearing this spring. While we reported Dr. Dre said he was feeling great over social media on Wednesday this week, it’s worth noting the star is still in the hospital and we haven’t really heard anything about a prognosis for his health situation.
