Superstar rapper Roddy Ricch hit what would be a huge milestone in any music career – his record, “The Box ” is now certified 7-times platinum in the U.S. The rapper took to social media to let his fans see a beautiful display off all platinum plaques encased together.

“The Box” was the biggest song in all of 2020 from Roddy’s debut studio album, Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial, the most globally streamed album of 2020. The album went on to win BET Album of the Year.

“The Box” was also nominated three times at the 63rd Grammy Awards and became Apple Music’s Song of the Year. In addition to U.S. sales, the song went on to go platinum in the U.K. with 600,000 units sold. It did 400,000 in Germany and 480,000 units in Canada – that’s 6-times platinum in that country.

“The Box” occupied the number one spot in the United States for an impressive 11 weeks, frustrating several big name artists expecting number one debuts during that time. Congratulations Roddy Ricch, and thanks for giving us real music. Until the next time it drips…
