Rapper Meek Mill has apologized to Vanessa Bryant, wife of the late Kobe Bryant. Why? Meek Mill recently teased a song with rapper Lil Baby where Meek mentioned Kobe Bryant and also made reference to the fateful helicopter crash that killed him, his daughter Gianna, and seven others.
On Tuesday TMZ quoted Meek Mill as saying…
“I apologized to her in private earlier today not to the public. Nothing I say on my page directed to a internet viral moment or the family of a grieving woman! If you care about someone grieving change the subject!”
A quick about face, the day after Vanessa Bryant called him out for mentioning her husband, saying the lyrics were “disrespectful.”
What exactly did Meek say on the track? The lyrics went…
“This b**ch I’m f**kin’ always tell me that she love me, but she ain’t ever showed me // Yeah, and if I ever lack, I’m goin’ out with my chopper, it be another Kobe.”
So there – it’s definitely too soon to bring up the memory of Kobe Bryant like that, especially from an artist with as many fans as Meek Mill. It’s a good thing he manned up about it. Until the next time it drips….
