Hip-hop icon Missy Elliot is getting honored in Hollywood. Fox 11 reports the four-time Grammy award-winning artist will be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The star will be unveiled on Monday and will honor the legendary singer, songwriter and producer. Due to COVID-19 protocols, there is no longer a dedicated area for fans to witness Walk of Fame ceremonies but there is still an online streaming option.
Elliot rose to fame after the creation of all-female R&B group Fayze, which featured Timbaland as their producer. They put out hits like “One In A Million,” “If Only Your Girl Knew” and “Hot Like Fire.”
She has also been honored in many other ways as of late. Elliott is the first female hip-hop artist to receive the MTV Video Music Awards’ Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. She’s the first female hip-hop artist and third rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, all going down in 2019.
