JAY-Z IS NOW THE MOST NOMINATED ARTIST IN GRAMMYS HISTORY

Rap mogul JAY-Z has made history. After nominations were released for the 64th Grammy Awards, Hov has been put in elite company.

Shawn Carter is now the most nominated artist, of all genres, in the history of the Grammys. He totals 83 bids over the span of his illustrious and legendary career.

This year, Jay is nominated for Album of the Year for his work on Kanye West’s Donda, and he’s also nominated in Best Rap Song for both the late DMX’s “Bath Salts” and Ye’s “Jail.” He has won 23 Grammys, but this number might increase following the January ceremony.

In second place for most Grammy nominations of all artists is Beatles icon Paul McCartney, as he now holds 81 after earning another two this week for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Album. This just further cements the legacy that Hov has built up for himself, and it’s clearly well-deserved.

Until the next time it drips…
