Dr. Dre can finally have peace. His widely publicized and extremely stressful divorce case has finally come to a close.
Per TMZ, Dre and ex-wife Nicole Young have come to a property settlement agreement in which the Beats By Dre mogul will pay her a sum of $100 million. They tied the knot way back in 1996, and she officially filed for divorce from the West Coast rap icon after 24 years in June of 2020.
The 56-year-old’s net worth is estimated to be around $820 million, but Young was only awarded $100 million in light of a prenup. She contested the prenup throughout the divorce proceedings, and “only” ended up with 100 Milli. Ouch!
He will pay her $50 million now and another $50 million in December of 2022. On the bright side, he’ll keep all the properties they owned in his name as well as keeping ownership of his master recordings, Apple stock, partnerships, trademarks and trusts.
