NAS TO SELL ROYALTY RIGHTS TO TWO OF HIS SONGS AS NFTS

Nas is getting his fans involved. The rap icon is diving deeper into the cryptocurrency world and also letting his listeners be a part of his music.

The New York native is set to sell the royalty rights to two of his songs as NFTs. The two tracks that will have their rights for sale at 6pm GMT on January 11 are “Ultra Black” and “Rare,” from his 2021 project King’s Disease 2.

He’s teaming up with song ownership platform Royal, which he invested in last year, to sell three tiers of tokens for the songs. For $50, you can buy the “Ultra Black” Gold tier, which includes 0.0143% streaming royalty ownership of the track. Check out the full list of tiers here.

“There is a huge opportunity to revolutionise the music industry,” Royal said about the collaboration. “We believe shifting power to artists and democratising ownership is a powerful step.”

This is no surprise, however, and expect many other artists to join the 48-year-old in diving deeper into crypto and combining it with music. In the meantime, here’s where you can purchase the ownership of the tracks.
