JAY-Z TO FIGHT FOR INMATE DENIED FREEDOM OVER LEFTOVER CHICKEN

JAY-Z is doing his part. The hip-hop mogul is reportedly stepping up to fight for an inmate he sees as one who should have been released already.

Hov’s legal squad, Team Roc, is taking up the case of a man named Valon Vailes, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence for intent to distribute more than one ton of weed. Vailes was convicted in 2007, but reached out to Jay last year to ask for help in getting a reduced sentence.

New court documents presented to TMZ reveal his case meets the terms for compassionate release, but federal prosecutors won’t allow his freedom because Vailes snuck leftover chicken from the prison mess hall to his cell.

With that being said, Team Roc and the iconic rapper are pushing for his release. Vailes has earned his GED while behind bars and would also like to be free to take care of his mentally ill brother.

More and more, people are saying everybody locked up for marijuana should be set free, anyway. We’ll keep an eye on his case.

Until the next time it drips…
