Kendrick Lamar isn’t quite dropping music yet. It’s been announced that his time has been occupied elsewhere, and he still has something major coming.
The Grammy-winning rapper, Dave Free, and South Park co-creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have signed on to create a film for the big screen. They’re producing an untitled (for now), live-action comedy movie for Paramount Pictures.
Lamar’s creative company pgLang went to social media to announce the movie and build up the anticipation. Written by the Emmy-award winning Vernon Chatman, the film is about a young black man who has an internship as a slave re-enactor at a living history museum.
The man then discovers that his “white girlfriend’s ancestors once owned his,” per Deadline. It’s unclear when the movie will be released, but it’s surely going to be a hit.
