The Weeknd is above the competition. Just about half a month into the new year, he’s already dominating the streaming world.
In 2022, Abel has reached 500,000,00 streams already. It definitely helps that besides being one of the biggest artists in the world, he dropped a new project last week.
Dawn FM came out on January 7th, and was slated to debut atop the United States Billboard 200 chart. However, word just cam that Gunna will actually take the top spot in the US – more on that later.
The Weeknd’s project is also topping the charts in Australia and the United Kingdom, his third No. 1 project in the latter country.
Right now, he is the second most listened to artist in the world on Spotify. He is on pace for 83,000,000 listeners this month on the platform, so it’s very clear, he knows how to sell records and get people to listen to his music.
