Michael K. Williams might get justice. Four men have been arrested in connection to his overdose death in September 2021.
Best known for his role as Omar Little on HBO’s “The Wire,” Williams was found dead last year at his New York City apartment. The New York City Medical Examiner’s Office later determined Williams passed away from an accidental overdose.
The men who allegedly sold him the deadly fentanyl-laced heroin have been arrested by authorities. Each of the men were charged with “conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute fentanyl analogue, fentanyl, and heroin,” according to court filings.
The charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years behind bars and a maximum sentence of 40 years. The men also reportedly kept selling the harmful drugs even after learning of Williams’ passing.
Hopefully the late 54-year-old’s family can find solace in knowing they will be in prison for a long time.
