Lil Uzi Vert is avoiding time. The Philadelphia rapper has caught a major break in his felony assault case.
Uzi took a plea deal in an assault case that involved his ex-girlfriend Brittany Byrd and fellow rap star SAINt JHN. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office reported to TMZ that he pleaded no contest in court to one count each of felony assault with a firearm and misdemeanor injury to a girlfriend.
The punishment for the 26-year-old could have been a lot worse, as he’s avoiding any time behind bars. He’s been sentenced to 3 years of formal probation, 1 year of treatment for mental health and substance abuse, 52 weeks of domestic violence counseling, restitution and a 10-year criminal protective order.
Uzi was originally hit with 3 felonies: assault with a firearm, criminal threats and domestic violence, as well as a misdemeanor charge of carrying a loaded firearm. All in all, it could’ve gone down a lot worse for the fan-favorite artist, and he’ll stay a free man.
