Roddy Ricch is going offline. The West Coast rapper has gone off the grid after some rampant social media criticism.
On Saturday, the 23-year-old took to Twitter to share a 30-second snippet of an unreleased track with fans. “For your ears only,” he captioned the clip of the song, which is titled “Out of My Mind.”
He definitely wasn’t prepared for the backlash that followed, though, with social media users roasting his music and even saying he fell off. One user tweeted, “We are witnessing the Chance The Rapper-ification of Roddy Ricch,” referring to similar hate the Chicago rapper has to deal with.
Roddy ended up deleting both his Instagram and Twitter accounts, but not before posting… “Guess I’m a flop now,” alongside the peace sign emoji. “Sh*t crazy,” he finished an Instagram Story post before calling it quits on using the platform. It’s currently unclear if or when he will be back.
