MEGAN THEE STALLION SUES LABEL AGAIN – OVER “ALBUM” DEFINITION

Megan Thee Stallion is suing her label – again. The Houston rap star has once again taken legal action against 1501 Certified Entertainment.

In court documents filed last Friday and obtained by Complex, Megan’s legal team at Holland & Knight claim 1501 didn’t classify her Something for Thee Hotties project as an “album.” According to 1501, the 21-track record didn’t satisfy her “minimum recording commitment.”

Given the label’s stance, Megan’s lawyers are now saying…

“1501 wants to tie [Megan Thee Stallion] down to release more albums under the Contract to the financial benefit of 1501.” They continued… “Contrary to 1501’s position, Something for Thee Hotties clearly meets the definition of ‘Album’ under the recording agreement because it is not less than forty-five (45) minutes in length.”

If the project does get counted as an album, she will then owe 1501 only one more album on her contract. Megan and 1501 founder Carl Crawford, basically, hate each other, having epic internet battles going back two years.

It seems Megan just wants her freedom, but from these documents, she has at least one more album to drop.

Until the next time it drips…
