Nas and 50 Cent are on the big screen again. The two stars will be featured in a documentary about a Brooklyn rap legend.
It all began in 1994 when Nas dropped classic project Illmatic. It didn’t only solidify his own legacy, but it introduced the world to another star from the Big Apple – AZ. Real name Anthony Cruz, his classic verse on “Life’s a Bitch” established him as a lyrical prodigy.
The verse kickstarted his career and twenty-something years later, his journey is being told in an upcoming documentary called Jewels, Gems & Treasures. Nas and 50 Cent will have cameos in the documentary and tell the tale of AZ’s career.
“AZ would say some slippery sh*t,” 50 says in the trailer, while Nas adds, “He created a lane for himself. He didn’t want to go where anybody else went, where I went, where this guy went.”
A release date has yet to be announced for the documentary, but it’s surely going to be insightful and tell the true story of his life and time in Hip-hop.
Until the next time it drips…
