Nicki Minaj is going through with it. Her collaboration with Coi Leray is dropping this week after almost turning her back on their song.
During a little Q&A with her Twitter followers this week, the New York rapper revealed she originally pulled the plug on the collab, titled “Blick Blick,” because of Coi’s father. Benzino, infamous rapper/businessman, ruined the surprise by announcing the song on Clubhouse ahead of time.
The rap queen says her label pressured her to go forth with plans on releasing the song, but that’s not what did it. Nicki says a conversation with Coi is what ultimately led to her greenlighting the track. She tweeted…
“I did pull it. but the label hit me going hard. But rlly I had a private convo w|coi & that’s what changed my mind. Not the label. I just felt bad that she was robbed of telling the world in her own way @ her own time. But that’s water under the bridge now. Good vibes all 2022.”
“Blick Blick” is slated to drop this Friday, and both artists are promoting it heavily on their platforms. We’ll be listening.
