VINCE STAPLES ASKS WHY NBA PLAYERS FROM THE HOOD DON’T GET TARGETED LIKE RAPPERS

Vince Staples has a question. The California rapper has come forward to ponder why NBA players from the hood don’t get targeted like rappers do.

WhileĀ visiting Peter Rosenberg for an at-home interview, their conversation steered toward the topic of Hip-hop artists being targeted for their fame and wealth. This has led to the tragic slaying of many rappers in recent years, such as Pop Smoke, XXXTENTACION, Nipsey Hussle, and more.

This segued into how stars in other industries with similar backgrounds, such as basketball players move more freely and don’t face the same dangers as rappers. Staples said…

“It’s about how we carry ourselves and how we act, because think about NBA players. We know they got hundreds of millions of dollars, but they don’t have that specific target on they back.”

They also discussed labels’ exploitation of dead artists and their desires for big paydays using the names of the deceased. Check out their whole interview here and listen to what the 28-year-old has to say.
