Kid Cudi is back on the big screen. The Cleveland rapper has announced he’ll be directing his first feature film this year.
His Teddy (the title of the movie) era will soon be upon us, according to an extended message he shared with fans this week. The X actor revealed he wrote the Netflix film and will also star in it. Cudi said…
“If I could sum up what the movie is about in one sentence, id say this: It’s as if I took the song ‘Pursuit of Happiness’ and wrote a movie about it.” He continued… “I added a lot of my own personal struggles and experiences in it, so this film is very close to my heart. I know, that deep down, this movie will help people in the same ways my music has. Im continuing my mission.”
Another big thing to note about Teddy is it will be co-produced by JAY-Z, as well as Jeymes Samuel and James Lassiter – who previously came together as the Harder They Fall trio. The film’s release date hasn’t been made public yet, so fans can only hope it arrives soon.
