Latto is back with legit fire. The Hip-Hop star has dropped a new remix track with the iconic Mariah Carey.
After much anticipation, the 23-year-old has released the official remix to her hit “Big Energy” with Mariah. The remix borrows from the 53-year-old’s chart-topping 1995 hit “Fantasy,” which sampled Tom Tom Club’s 1981 single “Genius of Love.”
“I’ma be your fantasy / You ain’t gon’ believe this / Hold up, got Mimi on the remix,” Latto raps on the track, which also features DJ Khaled. The original version of “Big Energy” is her highest charting song, and has reached as high as No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Earlier today, Mariah celebrated her birthday with kind wishes from Latto. “THANK U FOR YOUR LEGENDARY VOCALS & ALL THE ADVICE YOU GAVE ME QUEEN,” she wrote, to which Mariah replied, “So excited for this moment dahhhhllling!!!!! So happy and proud of you and all you’re accomplishing!!!”
The new track is super dope, and we’ll have to see just how high it charts with such star power lining up together.
