Mac Miller is getting justice. One of the men responsible for the laced drugs that took his life has been sentenced to major prison time.
Ryan Reavis, 39 years old, pleaded guilty last November to distribution of fentanyl, a synthetic opioid that is up to 50 times more powerful than heroin. This week he was sentenced to 10 years and 11 months behind bars.
At the direction of Stephen Walter, Reavis provided the counterfeit oxycodone pills, which he was aware were laced with fentanyl or another controlled substance, to Cameron Pettit on September 4, 2018. Prosecutors say Pettit sold the laced pills to the Grammy-nominated artist the next day.
Mac Miller was found dead in his Los Angeles apartment two days after being sold the drugs. While Pettit’s case is pending, last year Walter also pleaded guilty to distribution of fentanyl.
