Fat Joe, Snoop Dogg, and more are mourning. The Hip-Hop community is coming together to remember DJ Kay Slay.
The New York City DJ and graffiti writer passed away on Easter Sunday following a months-long battle with COVID-19 at the age of 55. Many big-time artists are going to social media with tributes in remembrance of the Hot97 and Shade 45 host.
‘Joey Crack’ – one of Slay’s closest collaborators – posted a heartfelt message early Monday on Instagram, thanking the “icon” for always looking out for him. 50 Cent also went online with a post honoring the DJ.
The ‘Doggfather’ is just another of many who relayed their sadness over his passing to followers. Snoop posted a picture of Kay Slay and thanked him for just being himself, also asking him to say hi to his late mother in Heaven.
May he rest in peace.
