Azealia Banks is speaking up. She’s gone online with some thoughts about the rampant violence in Hip-Hop.
Although she’s usually one to never hold her tongue and say some outright disrespectful things, Banks sort of has a point with this one. The “212” artist is back with another inflammatory post, this time mentioning the current state of rap.
The rapper voiced her opinion over Instagram Story, writing,
“Hip Hop audiences are so ghetto and backwards sometime [eye roll emoji]. We need an intellectual glow up f**king pronto. We cannot be this addicted to/excited about such run of the mill human sh*t.”
“Knowing that most MEN and WOMEN IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY will exchange sexual favors for job opportunities is not news. The difference is: these white actors who are s**king d**k for lead roles aren’t shooting and killing one another!!!”
Banks went on to offer thoughts on what she calls “Hip-hop murder sh*t,” referencing the horrible and persistent circumstance of rappers being gunned down in the streets. Much of the statement in her signature rambling style, yet many are saying that what she said makes sense.
Do you agree with her? Let’s be honest – artists getting their lives tragically taken from them way too early is an all-too-frequent problem in the genre.
