Future is doing something historical. In light of his new album drop, he’s accomplished something only one other rapper ever has.
On Mother’s Day, Freebandz boss’ ninth solo LP I NEVER LIKED YOU debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 after moving 222,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. The largest opening week in his career and the biggest sales week of 2022 so far, the project is surely one to remember.
Just hours later, his hit song “WAIT FOR U” featuring Drake and Tems was crowned with the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, as announced by the publication on Monday. This is a major deal, as ‘Fewch‘ is just the second rapper in history and fifth artist overall to simultaneously debut atop the Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100.
Funnily enough, Drake was the first emcee to achieve this in September 2021 with Certified Lover Boy and his Future and Young Thug-featured bop, “Way 2 Sexy.” Congrats to the Atlanta superstar!
