50 Cent isn’t playing around with R.I.C.O.. Old footage of the Hip-Hop star has surfaced about hypothetical legal situations.
Like almost the entire rap community, ‘Fif’ is fully aware of the current predicament Gunna and Young Thug find themselves in. The two rap stars were arrested in Fulton County, Georgia last week in a sweeping 56-count YSL indictment that includes charges of conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, murder, armed robbery, criminal gang activity, and more.
Last Thursday, the New York native took the opportunity to remind his fans he’s “not gang gang” and he does “not gang bang.” However, the former phrase is one he’s said several times before, including in his 2018 single called “Get The Strap.”
The following day, legendary producer Pete Rock shared a clip of 50 in which he references the phrase and explains why he’d rather face homicide charges over a R.I.C.O. charge every time.
“I don’t like RICO,” 50 says. “I don’t like conspiracy. Give me a homicide right now. I’ll take a homicide right now […] Those [RICO] laws were designed for you not to escape them.”
You can’t blame him. R.I.C.O. charges are very serious, so the Hip-Hop world can only wait and see what happens in the case against YSL.
