Fake Drake is getting the bag. The faux ‘6 God’ is actually getting paid major money for his performances of Drake songs.
The man, who goes by the name of Izzy, is turning into more than just a vanishing viral meme. Drake‘s lookalike has been running wild in Miami over the last few months, and is literally raking in big-time dough.
This week, DJ Akademiks shared a video of the fake Drake performing in front of a small crowd. The doppelgänger had people on the makeshift stage alongside him as he made his best try at Drake’s “Laugh Now Cry Later” with a backing track.
The clip’s caption reads, “$5K a show @izzyydrake.” It hasn’t been confirmed if this is actually true, but sheesh – talk about exploiting the system to make money off of another person by simply (hardly) looking like them.
