Snoop Dogg is coming forward with previously unknown details about his music. He’s revealed a late rap great wrote one of his songs.
The West Coast rapper dropped his Coolaid project in 2016, which featured a song titled “Ten Toes Down.” Only now, however, he’s revealing the track was actually penned by Nipsey Hussle.
With production headed by 1500 or Nothin’s Carlos “Los” McSwain, the track samples 2002 movie Paid in Full and includes three verses written by the Crenshaw native. “Can’t walk around without your muthf**kin’ gun, that’s a no no,” Snoop raps on the song.
Snoop took to Instagram recently to let it be known that ‘Nip’ played a major part in the song’s creation, and it’s not a surprise as the two were known to have a close friendship before his untimely passing in 2019. “The late great @nipseyhussle wrote this for me,” Snoop Dogg wrote. “10ToesDown. Coolaid. Albulm.” Rest in peace Nipsey.
Until the next time it drips…
