LIL BABY NAMED ASCAP SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR FOR SECOND YEAR IN A ROW

Lil Baby is being honored. He’s been crowned the ASCAP Songwriter of the Year for the second consecutive year.

The Atlanta superstar was among the many honored virtually at the 35th Annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards that went down on Tuesday, June 21st. The awards celebrate the songwriters and publishers behind 2021’s biggest Hip-Hop, R&B, and gospel hits.

For the second year in a row, Baby was given the Songwriter of the Year award for penning several chart-topping tracks. Among the hits he wrote were DJ Khaled’s “Every Chance I Get,” Drake’s “Girls Want Girls,” solo single “On Me,” Rod Wave’s “Rags2Riches 2” and Drake’s “Wants and Needs.”

Sony Music Publishing scored their third win in what was an extremely successful year, earning the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Publisher of the Year award, as well as ASCAP Awards for Pop Music Publisher of the Year and Latin Music Publisher of the Year.
