LIL WAYNE REVEALS HE WAS ‘WORRIED’ ABOUT DROPPING ‘THA CARTER’

Lil Wayne was worried. The Louisiana rap veteran has opened up about the time he dropped his classic, Tha Carter, project in 2004.

While celebrating the iconic LP’s 18th anniversary this week, ‘Tunechi’ reflected on his mindset leading up to the album’s release, and admitted he was uncertain about the potential impact the project would have and how it would be received. Deep down, ‘Weezy F. Baby’ remained confident in his craft and knew it would all work out.

He wrote in an Instagram post….

“18 years ago I had no idea of what you’d think abt this album and I was worried abt what it’d do but I never doubted what it would be. A classic. A living legend. A beast. A jewel. A part of me and you forever. That part. 2 every fan thats been a member of this Carter family, I ain’t sh*t without you.”

Tha Carter kickstarted Lil Wayne’s flagship series, peaking with 2008’s wildly-anticipated Tha Carter III, which sold over one million copies in its first week, while also earning Lil Wayne his first No. 1 album. The series is still going strong almost two decades later, as a sixth installment is in the works following the Tha Carter V‘s arrival in 2018. Talk about classics!
