21 SAVAGE DEFENDS USE OF VIOLENT LYRICS IN HIS MUSIC

21 Savage is doing some explaining. He’s gone online to defend his use of violent lyrics throughout his music.

The Atlanta-based rapper tweeted a message this week about gun violence that read: “Atlanta We Have To Do Better Put The F****** Guns Down!”

A follower replied with a GIF of a man looking confused and included some of 21’s lyrics from his Billboard Hot 100-topping collaboration “Jimmy Cooks” with Drake in the caption. “Spin the block twice like there ain’t nowhere to park,” the person wrote, to which 21 Savage replied back:

“A Song Is For Entertainment It’s Not An Instruction Manual On How To Live Life In Real Life I Give Away A Lot Of Money And Spread Financial Literacy To My Community Stop Trying To Make Me 1-Dimensional.”

Rap lyrics have recently been a hot topic in light of their use in court cases. The Hip-Hop community is trying to put a stop to this practice, and there’s a petition active right now from 300 Entertainment founder Kevin Liles.

Whether 21 is adamant about his stance, or just doesn’t want a RICO case sent his way, he’s making his thoughts be known regardless.
