R. Kelly’s team is claiming many of his master recordings stolen, and the theft may be linked to the release of his album, I Admit It.
TMZ has obtained a police report where the disgraced artist’s camp alleges 300-500 of his master recordings were taken from an Illinois storage facility back in February.
The call to authorities came from someone named Keith Calbert, who was said to be in-charge at the facility. They told the cops they believe the value of the stolen property to be in the millions of dollars.
Calbert alleges the recordings were swiped by two roadies, with one of the culprits allegedly ransoming a portion of the music for $160,000. Police didn’t find any leads or make an arrests at the time, and the case was closed earlier in 2022.
On December 9, I Admit It mysteriously appeared on streaming services under R. Kelly’s official artist pages, but was taken down hours later. It seems like the two could be related, but we might not ever know.
It sure is a strange happening… We’ll let you know, as soon as more details become available.
Until the next time it drips…
