Gunna, real name Sergio Kitchens, 30, was recently released from jail in Atlanta, Georgia in mid-December. He reached a plea deal with Fulton County prosecutors in his R.I.C.O. gang case and was sentenced only to probation.
The rapper dropped a message over social media on Wednesday, seemingly announcing his return to the music industry. In the post, he was pictured all alone in a plush living area with low lighting, stacked with stereo equipment.
His message to the masses…
“N*ggas acting like they switching to a side BUT it’s only one side. #yslthelabel #freethug&yak GUNNA BACC!!!!!”
Ever since word broke of his plea deal, the artist has faced accusations of “snitching” from fans and some YSL organization members.
In response to Gunna’s post, Young Thug’s brother, Unfoonk, took to Instagram to say…
“All dat internet sh** not P, IM been humble with you n*ggas.”
When Gunna posted about the death of YSL rapper Lil Keed this week, his brother, Lil Gotit, spoke up against the move. His message to Gunna…
“N*ggas needa stop that cap.”
Lil Keed died in May last year in Los Angeles, California while the “Pushin P” star was still locked up. A recent medical examiner’s report says Keed died from an unusual disorder called Eosinophilia, marked by an excess of eosinophils in the blood.
Gunna’s plea agreement calls for him to provide testimony against his YSL Records label boss and rap superstar Young Thug in court. The trial began in Fulton County this week.
Interestingly… there may have been thawing of relations in the YSL camp in most recent hours. Unfoonk posted a message interpreted as conciliatory towards the Wunna star overnight. Stay tuned here for more updates.
