Ahead of tonight’s Verzuz battle with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Hip-hop veteran Juicy J is revealing the truth. While chopping it up on a podcast, he revealed why legendary group Three 6 Mafia split apart.
He was catching up with Nas and Miss Info on The Bridge: 50 Years of Hip Hop when he spoke about the Memphis group’s rise and tumble. According to the Oscar-winning rapper, drugs played a major role in their breakup and retreat from the spotlight. JJ explained…
“From heroin to meth to cocaine, all kinds of pills. A lot of drugs were consumed during the times we were together. When everybody was sober and sh*t, everybody’s on the same page.” He continued… “when cocaine’s involved, things change. But I’m not pointing a [finger] at nobody.”
The impact of Three 6 Mafia is undeniable but despite the fact that all good things must come to an end, their music will live on forever.
